SPRING 2026
Community Board opportunities are local, free, and worth service credits. All opportunities and host organizations have been approved and vetted by OSD. Please note, beyond these posts, OSD is not involved with and does not coordinate these opportunities. This is what makes them unique. You need to sign up directly with the organization and complete a service credit report form afterward. Only APU Undergraduate students can earn service credits through these opportunities.
APU PRAY LAB (PSYCHOLOGY DEPARTMENT)
Today at Azusa Pacific University, we work together as a team of difference makers to advance the work of God in the world through scholarship, teaching, and building disciples across all levels and delivery systems of collegiate education. When Azusa Pacific was founded in 1899 in a simple home in Whittier, California, as the Training School for Christian Workers, that modest beginning came with the bold resolve of homeowner Philena B. Hadley and others to forge an educational enterprise that would impact the world for Christ. This foundational understanding of our common purpose finds expression in the Mission Statement as established in 1990 under the leadership of Interim President Ted Engstrom and President Richard Felix, who had just begun his tenure.

COMPASSION CENTER - COMMISION CHURCH
Our Compassion Center hosts weekly food distributions on Saturdays from 10:00am - 12:00pm and provides vital food resources to individuals and families facing food insecurity. Volunteers prepare bags of food which are loaded directly into people's vehicles in a drive-up model. Each week help is needed organizing the food for distribution mid-week and then giving it out during our Saturday hours.
First, students would need to get Live-scanned. The church may be able to help with this. Volunteers help from 9am - 12pm on Saturdays, as well as some opportunities mid-week for picking up and organizing foods for distribution.
