one-time opportunities
Overview: One-time opportunities provide students an opportunity to serve on a single day for a few hours to a half day with one of our vetted local partners. Each one-time opportunity earns students 5 service credits. One-time opportunities are first come first serve and will be closed when we reach the maximum number of volunteers. You can sign up for as many as you would like throughout the semester.
Green Care Day
Date: September 24, 2022
Time: 9-12 pm
Location: Monrovia Schools (exact schools TBD)
Description: Volunteers will be helping at Food ED's Green Care Day plant, weed, and compost gardens in the Monrovia School District. ***Closed toed shoes and gardening appropriate attire required***

Jog-a-thon - Monroe Elementary
Date: September 27, 2022
Time: 11am-3:30pm
Location: Monroe Elementary School
Description: APU volunteers will help Monroe Elementary put on their annual fundraising Jog-a -thon! Volunteers will set up, mark laps, and clean up after the event. *Comfortable shoes are encouraged*

Date: October 6th, 2022

Shift 1: 12pm-6pm
Shift 2: 5pm-10pm
Location: Hilton Hotel in Costa Mesa, CA
Description: Volunteers will help serve dinner and facilitate an online auction. Food will be provided. Volunteers will need to wear all black. Carpool can be coordinated if needed.

camp monroe
Date: October 14th
Time: 5pm-9pm
Location: Monroe Elementary, Monrovia, CA
Description: Volunteers will help set up tents and other camping equipment and supplies for a student event Volunteers will help with set-up, tear down, and facilitate the camp as "Camp Counselors."
